Trump touts Venezuela's resources as part of US energy dominance

Speaking to supporters in Las Vegas, President Donald Trump declared that the United States, now factoring in Venezuela's resources, holds 60% of the world's oil and gas reserves. The US leader effectively folded Caracas's hydrocarbon potential into America's energy portfolio, asserting that the US already possesses the world's largest oil and gas volumes, and that integrating Venezuelan deposits only reinforces that dominant position.

The public remarks followed a series of provocative social media posts by the president, including an image depicting Venezuelan territory as the 51st US state.

In his posts, Trump also claimed his personal approval rating had reached an all-time high, urging supporters to disregard critical poll results, which he dismissed as "fake" and skewed by his political opponents.
